Thumbs up New Rims at Last!

Finally after 3 months of waiting my new wheels have arrived. I ordered the Team Dynamic Pro Race 1.2 in 17" with an ET of 38 to ensure I could fit my AP's underneath. Sadly they still needed a 5mm spacer at the front but the bonus of that is better turn in.

The handling difference is incredible, the car just feels a lot sharper and more nimble. The new wheels weigh 8kg each (weighed myself) and the Goodyear’s (215/45/17 Eagle F1's) weigh 10kg each giving a total of 18kg per corner. My 17" S-Lites weighed in at 12 kg each so with the Goodyear’s on totaled 22kg a corner.

Thanks to the Pro Race I've saved 4 kg a corner which was worth it in itself but I also think they look good too. Would love to hear everyone else’s thoughts positive or negative .

P.S Big thanks to 1320 for fitting the wheels and tyres so carefully... lovin ya work!

Looking good. Couldn't agree more with your comments on ditching S Spokes especially where Cooper/ONE models are concerned. When I changed the wheels on my Cooper, saving a similar amount of weight, the acceleration and handling felt like a different car. Have said it everytime someone asks about rims, stay away from heavy wheels!!

Cheers for the comments guys, much appreciated.

Mess, they're already dirty so I'm guessing they'll be a nightmare to keep clean

Drumzz, a closer picture of the 'Chavs Hat' scoop or BBR Ram Air as its better known is enclosed and can be bought from here:

morego - Performance Car Tuning Specialists - BBR Ram Induction Bonnet Air Inlet Venturi kit

It's really effective and warrants the price even though it seems that its just a piece of mock carbon fibre plastic.

Looking good - glad I am not the one who will be cleaning them

Weight is just under my GP wheels with Falken 215/35 tyres at 19 KG per corner

In Italy

I cant believe how much its changed the look of the car, it looks so much faster

Sometimes I forget how lucky we and the customers are to have Thomas working on our Minis.

They look very good match the car very well.

I have R85's on mine, to be honst its such a shame they are so heavy as for me they are the best looking wheels for the mini.
