| MINI2 Newbie | Advice on BBS wheels please?? I have been offered 4 BBS RX 17" wheels with next to new tyres on them in mint condition . I think they are very nice wheels n would look good on the mini but have a few concerns. I think the price that i have been offered them at seems very good but i'm not too sure. My questions are: What do you think they are worth paying for? Also, does anyone no if they would fit onto a 52 plate mini one?? I dont have much more details on them other than they are 4 stud, 7" wide. Could there be different distances between four stud wheels such as the studs are spaced at different distances apart? Also what about rubbing on arches?? One additonal point what about the fitting if i decide to go ahead with the eibach lowering springs (30mm) I know there is several issue's here but any advise would be greatly appreicated! Thanks in advise, Sam. |

| MINI2 Newbie | That has been quite helpful, cheers mate, i found this: '''What are the bolt pattern, centerbore and offsets for wheels? The bolt pattern is 4x100mm. The centerbore is 56.1mm. The offset (ET) can range from 35mm to 52mm depending on the wheel size, as detailed in the FAQs on factory and aftermarket wheel availability.''' I take it the bolt pattern figure refers to the number of holes for bolts to go into and the diameter of them therefore the wheels i get need to be the same bolt pattern as that above?? Is the centrebore the round metal bit in the middle of the hub then? Should the wheels give a measurement in regards to this?? I have found out the offset is ET42 and the wheels i have on at the minute are ET45 so i dont think that would cause to many problems |

| Thinking Minis | They will fit im running bbs RCs 17x7 et42 the center bore of the wheel is bigger but they have things called spiggot rings which reduce the size to 56.1 for the mini. Last time I saw a set like your talking of they were around 700 used with decent brand tyres! Lucky is a way of life (tm) 243.5 bhp & 205.3 ft lb |

| MINI2 Newbie | Cheers for the info dave. My only concern is that on the BBS website when searching for the wheels for the mini it says RX214 or or RX215. Im assuming the refers to all the different types of BBS RX wheels for different models they do. The ones i have been offered are RX217 so im slightly worried the bolt pattern might be slightly different or something. What actually is the mm measurment of the bolt battern refering to? Also where do you get spiggot rings?? Thanks dave. |
