Offline | Thanks Colorado S, so that confirms my suspicion because the wheel gap is more compared to what is on my MCS (DS/W) with the 17" S-Spokes. ![]() Are you planning on replacing your OEM wheels too? 2005 Mercedes Benz C55 AMG 2006 BMW Z4 M-Coupe - Premium Pkg. 2007 Honda Fit - Sports Pkg. 2005 V-Star 1100 Custom 2007 Honda 250 Reflex |

Offline | Not Mine That was the picture posted on kspeed. I really like the wheels, so i posted the picture (hope it is ok). I am planning on getting a set when my MINI arrives. Yes they are 16x7, but I think they are going to make a 16x6.5 for the autocrossers, and a 17 inch version also. Thanks for the High Res pics MINIAC. Am using them for background pics now! ![]() Last edited by baggins_mini : Sep 13th, 2002 at 06:02 AM. |

Offline | We have had the Panasports in stock now for some time now - they are 16x7 and have a 35mm offset. The due tend to stick out just a bit, but no spacers or other mods are needed for these wheels - I even used my stock Mini studs. KSpeed does sell them as well - don't forget that we (Rspeed) and k-speed are two completely different companies. The weight is about 16 lbs each - with the Falken tires I wounted, the total weight was around 34 lbs or so - not the lightest weight to have on each corner, but they do look sweet. Offline | Caution baggins-mini: There is an offset range that you can use before you cause excessive front wheel bearing wear. I don't know what that range is for the MINI but from my experience going from ET50 stock to ET35 with only a 1/2" increase in wheel width may be at the edge of that range. Try to get an answer from your dealer if you can, the Service guys not your Advisor. Or you might try the Tire Rack - I asked a bunch of questions on this topic concerning VWs and they were helpful. ![]() 2003 Cooper: VR/W, Black Cloth & Interior, Cold Pak, MFSW, DSC & OBC Mod: Clear Lens 3rd Brake, Stubby Antenna, Cocomats, Clean Visors, Minilite Wheels, CNC Pedals, Custom LED Tail Lights, DaLan Hitch w/Whalen Engraved Hitch Cover |

Offline | Offset.... I was just reading the FAQ on factory offsets for the various wheels. Strangely, many of the 5.5" wide rims are listed as ET45, while 6.5" and 7" wide rims show ET48-50 offsets. This is not typical. Usually, you will find a decrease in offset as the rim get wider. I would surmise that with such a wide range of widths avaialable, the factory had to play with the numbers to get the 5.5" rims to sit out far enough. However, if the correct offset for a 7" rim is ET50, then going to a ET35 on a 16x7 is going to move that rim out 15mm or well over 1/2"..... The Panasports sure look sweet though. Is there any particular reason that they have chosen this offset? |
