The problem with ET38 is if you lower your MINI and ever want to run 215 width tires you might having rubbing.

I run et45s on 215/45s on -35mm and they dont rub. I knew folks running -35mm on 215/40 17 with Et38 and they didn't rub except a little on the rears when under full power with weight in the back seats.

people have said et38 with 205/45 tyres rub, so et38 with 205/40 tyres should rub less or not at all, would that be correct?
thanks so far

I'd say that is a fair assumption to make. Like I said I run et45 with 215/45 and they only rub at the rear, and only if theres weight in the back and under acceleration as it goes onto full travel on the spring. I recon my fronts could easy have et38 without an issue and the rears could go to 42 or maybe 40.... and 215/45 are big assed tyres compared to 205 or 215/40

I've got 215/45/17 ET38 TD 1.2's on my MCS which has the sports suspension and the back wheels do rub on bumpy roads even with just me in the car. If you're not getting a BBK then I'd stick with ET45, plus I had to wait nearly 3 months to get mine in ET38 so make sure if you do get the ET38's they have them in stock.

That said I like the squat stance it gives the car on ET38's. I'll be changing to 205/40's next time which might cure the rubbing.

Im running 225/35/18s on 18x8.5 rims!!

The ET worked out at around 36 due to the width and I needed much modding to get them in!
