Hi, still trying to sort out my new wheels and I as per my previous posts looking at the TD Pro 1.2's. Speaking to one of the alloy wheel suppliers they advised you can get the TD 1.2 with a silver rim, as I personally am not keen on all black. Does anyone have a picture of these wheels on their car, I would love to see them on before I commit myself. Also opinions on these wheels would also be appreciated. In case you havent read my earlier posts on aiming to put on my 03 gloss black mcs.

Hi Ryan, nice mini, the all black wheels look good against the silver, good choice. As my is all black Im looking at the 1.2's with the silver rim. Hoping someone can provide me a photo on a black mini with these wheels, even if some can photoshop them for me which would be very much appreciated.

I wanted black with silver about 18 months ago but TD told me that finish was for the US market only and wouldn't sell me them even though they are made in the UK.

I have zero tolerance for wantonly shoddy customer service so I went elsewhere and I have since bought 2 sets of new wheels from Rota.

Hi Fen, what ROTA wheels did you buy ? With regards the TD 1.2 with silver rims I went to an alloy wheel dealer 2 days ago, who has these in stock with Toyos. I am thinking of getting them but would like to see them on a black mini before buying.

Maybe they aren't UK only any more, but they were in Summer 2006 according to TD themselves.

On the Mini I have Rota Slipstream in flat black - I didn't want the polished rim as I wanted to make the (dark silver with black roof) car look as "hard" as possible, but there are lots of Rota styles in either black/polished or anthracite/polished (which is what I fitted to the (black) MX5 turbo I originally wanted TD rims for).

As I said I have had 2 sets of Rotas now and wouldn't hesitate to buy a third; they are light and strong and the finish seems to be top quality though they are sensibly priced. The guys at Rare Rims are top blokes - I used to be local enough to drop by personally. They also seem to have a good stock of the right size for the Mini even though their main market is Jap.
