United-States How do i reset brake pad light?

I changed the front pads on my 05 S. The wear light was on for about 30 miles before the change. Now I can't get the light off. I've read all the weird posts about how you hold this, turn that on...stand on your head...but none of them work. I have NOT changed the sensor yet. Is that the problem? Once the sensor is activated you must change it? The sensor had the tiniest nick in the plastic exposing a metal dot the size of a pencil dot on a piece of paper.

Is there a way to reset the pad light without changing the pad sensor?

Thanks all,

Ron B.

Yep, you have to change the sensors in order to get the light to go out.

HI flake,

Can brake sensors by replaced under the car after new pads are fitted, or do the wheels need to come off?

Thanks,

beej

I think you can get at em from underneath - a pit or a lift! but prob just as easy to take wheel off!
You wont have to strip the brakes again

I agree with OneD/ You can probably do it while they are on the car, but it would be easier to do with them off.
