Changing tyre size? Have a look here...

Found this very handy wee tool, for calculating tyre size/rolling radius...

Tire size calculator


For 18's it shows 215/40 is better than 215/35, when using 195/55r16 as the stock item.

For using 205/45r17 as stock, 205/40r18 is best.



Dunno why it would change from 16 to 17.

What should be considered in choosing a wheel and tire package?
It's the diameter of the tire that matters. The variance in diameters between the smallest OEM tire (175/65-15) and largest (205/40-18) is 2.1%. The greater the diameter of the tire the more you have to worry about rubbing.
