Team Dynamics PR 1.2

Hi, I'm about to buy some Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2s (205/40/17) brand new.
I've seen some people have red writing on Pro Race 1s and was wondering if it was possible to have the printed letters on the edge of the 1.2s in red as it would really suit the GP

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Basically this is a no. The red lettered wheels are a US spec rim. I tried to get them but I was told something about them not being approved for sale in the UK?! Wether its true or not I don't know, but you could get them done privatley by a spray shop.

Oh and if you get TD PR 1.2s I'd suggest getting ET40 not the usual ET45 that they fit for a MINI. ET 45 looks very narror on the MINI (I have ET45s TD PR 1.2s and they are not as good as the set I had previously which were ET38 TD PR 1.2s). I'd especially advise this if you only gonna have 205 tyres. Personally if you can get them in this set-up I'd get ET40 with 215/40R17s

Hi Richard, thanks for the advice, I hadn't really considered 215/40s as I thought it might cause rubbing problems, have you had any problems?
I suppose I will just try and find someone who can paint the red into the letters or I could try and do it myself!!!!!

Nope. I run ET45 (offset) and I have -35mm KW springs. They have never rubbed. I have used 205/45, 215/40 and now 215/45 tyres! I am soon to fit ET 36-38 on the fronts and ET 40-42 on the rears as there is still room for moving them outboard. On a stock or JCW suspension car I know ET 38 on the front fits easy with no rubbing. Your better with 40-42 or even the 45s on the rear though (Its the rears that tend to rub on the arch liner, or the little plastic clip on tabs that sit over the rear arch joint).

TBH if your not lowered then it should never rub. Oh and 215/40s are nearer to the correct rolling radius than 205/40s (the stock tyre 205/45R17 has a very similar RR to the 215/40R17 tyre) means your speedo will be more accurate if i remember right on the proportions.

I have 205/40/18 stock size, so the 205/40/17 will be too small. It will lower the ride height by about 10mm . I think the speedo reads slow with smaller wheels so thats ok.
Still not decided!

Thanks for your help

Actually Speedo will read HIGH by about 5 to 6% due to the smaller rolling diameter
