Offline | Hi folks, Have seen some alloys I like the look of, but I probably cant afford them anyway. ![]() However in an ideal world, would these sizes fit the MINI though? 7.5 x 17 4x100 ET35 Fitted with 205 / 40 / 17 tyres Thanks for any help. ![]() James. |

| Back To My Old Self | James 7.5 x 17 - Yes these will fit ![]() 4x100 ET35 - Bolt Pattern is correct but offset (ET) is a little lower than usually seen on here. FAQ section states that ET varies from 35-48mm. The wheel you are looking at is 12mm wider than your current set, 6mm each side of the centre. Then your lower offset will make the wheels sit 13mm further out from the hub. So outside of the wheel is 13+6mm further out (or closer to the arch) than it was before. I think. So could be some rubbing issues. Fitted with 205 / 40 / 17 tyres - To keep the speedo correct you'll need 205/45/17 as the rolling radius of the 40's is greater than 2.5% different to what you have already. Hopefully this is all correct. One other thing. What weight are the alloys you're looking at. Your current set are 9.95kg without tyres, which is one of the lightest 17" OEM wheels. With your car being a ONE D the weight of the new rims is very important as heavier rims will really effect your acceleration and handling. If you want to change go for something lighter than you've already got. And as Laura says what's wrong with the stunning rare wheels you've got ![]() ![]() |

Offline | Hmm, well the alloys would need a re-furb anyway and a change of tyre would make them out of my price range. The wheels in question are a set of antracite BBS RC's. The pic below shows them in silver, but you get the idea. ![]() ![]() Last edited by R99 : Feb 27th, 2008 at 02:35 PM. |

Offline | P.S, what would a set of perfect (4 month old) polished R99's, with 4 decent runflats go for? To be honest, I'm probably not going to change my alloys, but I do like those RC's..... a lot. |

Offline | Just to poke my head into the conversation for bit... I just find it rather funny that they've called their product the BBS RC, when there's a scientific funding body called the: * * * * * NeuroBeaker Proud owner of "Zeus" (a 'slightly modified' 2004 Mini ONE). |

Offline | LOL /\/\/\ I love those wheels too! Why can't you get non runflats on your R99s? That way its much cheaper to replace. You'll need to tell your insurance though and maybe get a puncture repair kit. ![]() |

Offline | Lol. ![]() Yeh, I could get non runflats on the R99's, but I've virtually two new ones upfront and the rears are still pretty decent. So I suppose its just waiting for them to wear down. ![]() I really like the RC's, but I reckon the car would definatley need dropping 30mm in order for them to sit right. ![]() Don't get me wrong, I do love my current wheels, but these RC's have got me thinking. ![]() Thanks for the info Wibbs, I may drop him a PM if he doesn't see this thread. ![]() |

Offline | Those are really nice looking rims!! From a looks perspective ... get them!! But you should consider the advice above about offsets, etc as the last thing you need is rubbing arches. |

Offline | Hmm, still not sure of the exact answer about these. I have asked the same question on MA, and the general consensus is that they will go on the car, but the wide offset and tyre size has the potential to cause rubbing (not good seeing as I also want to lower the car 20-30mm) Also the issue of needing spigot rings has arisen. ![]() Not looking so hopeful now I don't think. I have spotted these however, which are brand new and cheaper. They don't come with tyres though, having said that , the other rims are kerbed on three wheels and the tyres have the potential to need changing to make them fit. So this could be a much cheaper option? What's the opinion, would these fit? Offline | Yep they (ebay ones) will fit if you get the right spiggot rings. If the others are really from a VR6 corrado then they are 5 stud (so wont fit), if they are 4 stud then the guy is mistaken in believing his car is an official VR6 corrado but this does mean that they will fit the MINI as the early Corrados were 4x100 stud pattern I think you will find that those wheels with 205 tyres will have very little kurb protection so damageing them could be easy. 205 on a 7.5 rim is very skinny. You really need 215s on them and that increases the risk of any rubbing. However if you use Minisport 20mm eibachs instead of the standard 30mm eibachs then you will probably enocounter no scrubbing on a 215/40 tyre unless possibly you have 2 people in the back and on a bumpy road (plus the srubbing is usually minimal from my experiences) R |

Offline | Thanks for the info Richard. I guess I just now need to decide if I should go for either of them. I think given what you have said with regard to the the tyre situation on the Corrado wheels then if any I will probably go for the E-Bay rims. |
