Offline | This is confusing, Ive been looking at tires at this online site, localized version for you Brits would be this -> Tyres at mytyres.co.uk: car tyres, 4x4 tyres and van tyres at low prices What is this rim protector? I take it it has nothing to do with run flats? This would be reasonable price wise, FK-452 215/35 ZR18 84Y RFD with rim protection * Now what is this RFD? Run flat? Falken homepage hasn't got any mention about them being such. Looks wise theres a run out of EAGLE F1 GS-D3 215/35 ZR18 84W XL, which have that clean monsoon F1 look, their almost cheap, as their an old model. Damo, you mentioned in another thread that your Superleggeras rub a bit at the back? Your car was lowered? How much? I have thought about getting a KW set at some point, I might not use it directly to lower the car, but Ive heard even at its highest setting its lower than the original ride height? Blaah... |

Offline | The Rim Protector is a little bit of extra rubber on the tyre that protrudes over the edge of the rim so help preventing damage from catching kerbs and big bumbs. ![]() My car is lowered on Eibach lowering springs (30-35mm I think) and it only rubs when you hit a big dip. ![]() |

Offline | A tyre with Rim Protection, just means that the side wall has been moulded so that it overlaps the wheel rim. Any slight brush of the curb and it's just the tyre that gets rubbed .I'm think i'm right in saying that RFD, refers to it being Reinforced, which means the tyre can take extra loads. There also referred to as XL, or Extra Load tyres as well. Extra Load tyres are an evolution of the reinforced tyre for heavier, higher performance vehicles, allowing a lower profile tyre with extra load carrying capability, these tyres give more rigidity and enhanced road holding. Extra load tyres have a higher inflation pressure and often have XL moulded on the sidewall. I've been told that Cross Coilovers can be run at the stock ride height . There is a group buy thats just started for these in the Revolution MINI Works forum. |

Offline | I dunno... i kinda prefer the look of the Superturismos. The Ultraleggeras always look too thin and delicate to me. But you know what they say about opinions... |
