| MINI2 Regular | GTT spiroslot or JCW brakes? Hi folks Having a bit of a dilemna, with the extra power i have, i often feel my standard brakes arent up to the job. Do not want the expense of a big brake kit. So im thinking splash out on some JCW brakes, or get some off roland!! Just looking for some advice. Ive never tracked my car, although it feels like a track on some backroads . I may want to sometime though....Ps my car is a 2003 R53 Thanks again!! Superchargedddddddddd! |

Offline | Hey there... I'm hoping the Spiroslot brakes are going to be good. I've just ordered a full set from Roland and will be fitting them later in the month (probably ~25th). I'll let you know how I get on, but won't be able to comment on the JCW brakes. All the best, Andrew. * * * * * NeuroBeaker Proud owner of "Zeus" (a 'slightly modified' 2004 Mini ONE). |

Offline | I had a similar dilemma... not many seem to rate the JCW brakes and at the price they need to work as well as be shiny and red! Just had Spiroslots fitted yesterday at GTT and even this early they seem to have a lot more stopping ability - and that's even on my overweight MCSC. Roland said they will get better once bedded in... can't wait. The discs also look really good even with the standard calipers. For the same money as buying JCWs you could have Spiro's all round fitted and fresh DOT5.1 fluid. Should look after you on those back roads :-) Roland and GTT are a class act by the way. |

Offline | Not long back I went for spiroslot to go with my 220. They're like the OEM brakes (which admit it, are good) but better! I must replace the pad sensor(s) though, the yellow light annoys me. But I can only find one sensor so far... |

Offline | Give Derek Woodman a call. I bought both the front and rear sensors off them for £24.00 - postage to Scotland and VAT included. Fantastic deal!! * * * * * NeuroBeaker Proud owner of "Zeus" (a 'slightly modified' 2004 Mini ONE). |

Offline | I have the JCW brakes with goodridge lines and they are very good once run in, under hard braking I can almost feel my face being pulled off. Don't get me wrong they are not 4 pots but with the brake lines they are much better than the stock setup. I am very please with mine |

Offline | I have Spiroslots on the back, but still have standards on the front. So I haven't noticed the benefit yet, however my AP BBK arrived today, so the combination of the two should be good. |

Offline | Getting the full Spiroslot discs, pads and 5.1 fluid front and rear fitted this Thursday at GTT. Well give you an update after the journey home .I did mention when booking the car in if it was worth fitting braided hoses but as I've heard a few times, on modern cars the standard hoses are much better than they use to be, so on non track day cars not really worth the extra. Really looking forward to the day out at GTT. |

Offline | Interestingly, I'm getting the full GTT Spiroslot Braking system fitted at the end of this week (probably Friday). * * * * * NeuroBeaker Proud owner of "Zeus" (a 'slightly modified' 2004 Mini ONE). |
