Slow Puncture in runflats

My wifes low presure light has come on again (2007mini cooper). The first time i checked all presures and 1 tyre was down about 5 PSI. i inflated to the correct presure and now the light has come on again approx 3 months later with a reading 14.5PSI.

I have read that a runflat can be repaired if no damage to the side wall. Can anyone advise me if they have had a runflat repaired in the MIdlands ?

I have just had a screw in the front tyre of my 2007 MCS. The runflat was still inflated, but I went to the MINI dealer for advise on repairing it. They said they could repair it, but not until the day after. So I tried to find a tyre repair place that would repair it straight away, but no one would repair it because they won't touch runflats. You might have more luck in the UK. I ended up taking back to the dealer. The dealer said they will not repair certain manufaturers of runflats, but luckily mine was a Dunlop Sport, and they said they could repair it so long as the damage was not in the side wall. They charged me $44 and even cleaned all 4 wheels and hoovered the inside

Saved me few bucks. New ones are $450+, and it's only done 10K kilometers.

Any decent independant tyre dealer will repair your tyre (if it is repairable), just like any other tyre.

I guess that all depends on where you live. The one I went to said 'It's against Beaurepairs policy to repair any type of runflat'. I even told them that BMW Mini said it can be repaired and offered them the phone number so they could confirm this. They still refused. They just wanted $450+ for a new tyre.

I don't think so Mr Beaurepair!

Any decent tyre dealer will also tell you that generation 1 run flats are NOT repairable, it's even written on the sidewall of the tyre itself in small writing, (one sidewall, might be on the inside wall but you'll soon see when it's removed) the later generation 2 runflats are repairable but only with special smaller repair patches designed for the purpose, and only if there is no sign of prolonged deflated usage, my opinion with them is basically what price are you worth? if it blows out at high speed and kills you or somebody else due to a mistake made during inspection, no amount of compensation will bring them back.
