JCW Brakes brake pedal feel

Just had some JCW brakes fitted (still bedding in) but have noticed that the pedal feels a little softer i.e. slightly more pedal travel - once they bite they are great there is just a little more pedal movement before this happens. Anyone else noticed this?

I appreciate that the brake feel will improve as the brakes bed in

Hi Mark
Thanks for the reply
Yes they were bled all round with new 5.1 fluid added; I've only done 120 ish miles so still some bedding in to come.
The pedal travel just feels fractionally longer than stock which I guess could be due to the bigger piston?
I'll let them bed in a bit more and see.
Cheers
Neil

I think I am correct in saying in theory there is more fluid to be forced into a larger cylinder so you will get slightly more travel. However after I fitted mine they was slightly less travel which may just mean my brakes where due a bleed anyway.

Some people are like a Slinky ........ not really good for anything, but you still can't help
but smile when you shove them down the stairs

Thats what I've been told also and it makes sense; I guess its all relative to how your brakes felt before the upgrade

Piston area is slightly larger (and the mc is the same) so displacement is higher and thus travel and feel are reduced.
