Offline | I see. I have the Dunlop SP Sport 01 DSST on mine and so far they are ok. I've even done a track day on them and they are not to bad. If you decide to change them for non run flats check with your insurance company first and then have a look at some of the other threads on here as loads of peeps have swapped the run flats for normal tyres. It all comes down to what you like and if you have no confidence in them give something else a try, they aren't everyones cup of tea ![]() |

| MINI2 Regular | when ringing round or quotes on 4 new tyres, a number of tyre places wern't happy with my suggestion of non-runflats. Reasons being invalidating insurance (tyre spec has changed from original build) numerous mentions of no spare wheel (as if I didn't already know this!) etc. My local dealer confirmed this and said you are really best sticking to runflats as the suspension etc is set-up different to the cars with normal tyres and you would notice a slight difference in its running. One local tyre company wanted me to sign a declaration to prevent any 'come back' on himself. After all this, I decided to stick with runflats and went for Dunlop Excellence x4 which I am really happy with. I don't really know what all the fuss about changing runflats is all about but then I haven't tried a mini with 'normal' tyres to compare. I am happy that I have stuck with the runflats after all, got a good deal on ebay, 4 brand new, fitted for £310, normal retail is about £100 per tyre. |

| MINI2 Regular | Dunlop 9000 DSST 84V I've got these, they have lasted for 20000 miles switched them round a few times. Due switch them again shortley 4mm of tread left. Still holds the road like on rails wet and dry and out performs my confidence level, I Intend to change for the newer SP01 fairly soon. only downside is high noise level but had this from day one DSC keeps the wheel spin to a minimum tyre life to the max Still a pricey replacement ![]() |
