Dont really need anymore turn in tbh anyway, have more of a problem keeping the rear in check, lol.

Well the choice is more caster, or a little caster + anti lift.

The lift its talking about is the front end under hard acceleration. The Anti lift helps reduce the lift of the frontend under hard acceleration. This helps reduce tram lining and loss of traction.

And how about caster?

I also apologise for my ignorance

Is there any easy way of checking to see if my bushes need replacing?

Do you know what Camber is?

Well assuming my understanding is correct. The more you turn the wheel the more (Postive) camber you get on the outside wheel (and negative camber on the inside wheel). This is caster. So the more caser means in theory better turning in.

Better explanation:

Steering and Suspension: Caster - Learning Activity

Feeling the car bobbling a bit over cats eyes or tarmac changes at anything around 45,000 miles

Just been reading this thread. Some nice information here.

I guess problem with some (and not all) MINI / BMW techs these days is that they are simply "parts fitters" as opposed to technicians. This is why I think people like 1320 and GTT to name but a few do so well, because they are a service and know what they are doing through being out there and realising there is more to life than OEM.

Anyway, back to the wheels topic. I wondered if it is correct that when BMW set up the Cooper S on the Ring and through all thier testing etc that througout the car was set up and matched to 16inch wheels anyway? Thought the only reason why they put bigger rims on in the end is to sale the car and make it look more "aggresive" by stance.

I'm still shocked that the GP came with 18" wheels even tho they are quite light for 18's.

Is the saying not something like 18's for show 16's for go??
