I can't comment on the 2002 MCS Handbook, I only know they are not shown in my 2007 build R56 MCS book. It gives information about pressures generally, but the specific pressures are on the driver's door post for the tyre's it had from the factory.
hi i have a mini one with R99 wheels the anthracite ones.and i need some new tyres i dont want run flats anymore could any one suggest some, i was looking at yokohama parada spec 2s but they are a bit to much money. tyre size 205/45/17
Just found out my plug in compressor is telling fibs!
My indicator pinged on this morning so i stopped at the next garage to check pressures. I looked at the sticker on the door panel and it recommends 2.6 bar/ 38 psi which seems high but went along with it. I set up the fancy digital compressor and on checking tyres 3 were on 28 psi and 1 on 25 psi
20p and 2 mins later i have all 4 at 38psi and what a remarkable difference!
MC 2003 with ET42 wheels, Nokian Z 215/40R17 ZR 87W XL. Grips well enough on both dry and wet tarmac. The sidewall is quite rigid but not nearly as much as on run flats...
My standard Cooper 15" front tyres are getting quite thin now after 45k miles - I'm tempted to replace with the same type Michelin energy tyres unless anyone has a better suggestion?
I have had these for a while and must say, the grip is excellent, however, and as expected, they dont last long..
I am thinking about now going back to Yokohamas.
Mostly motorway (M6, M62) - it'll be more like 46k as they still have about 3mm on them - but I'll get them done soon as I like having a bit more tread than 3mm.
My Dunlop runflats finally come to an end and I replaced them with 205/45/17 TOYO T1R PROXES and im well pleased. After a bit of searching and bartering i managed to get all 4 fitted for £300 at Jefferies Tyres in Bromsgrove which i can highly recommend. I have just sold my rear Dunlops for £80 through the classifieds so £220 all in is a bargain
Gently run them in and now they are nice and quiet and plenty of grip so can recommend these non runflat tyres!
From a personal point of view, especially if you have an MCS.......I would stay with the Dunlop Sport RF's. They have an excellent reputation and give good grip wet/dry but they are costly
I have just replaced the front two Dunlop's after 11k.......next time I will probably have to replace them all so might consider Continental instead.
