Offline | 225 on a 17"! Had a puncture on a 205/45/17 rear runflat tyre at the weekend. Took it in to my local garage and had it replaced. Paid the bill for a 205 RF tyre and whilst washing the car the weekend noted that he had in fact fitted 225/45/17. Looks great as it really fills out the wheel arch. I don't think you could get away with this on the front however due to potential rubbing but it makes the back of the car look lowered (on one side at least for the mo!) Therefore before I return to either replace the new tyre with a 205 or replace the other rear with a 225 I thought I might conslut the might of the forum to see if people think or know whether there is a safety issue here? I have not seen any other 17" alloys fitted with 225's and assume there is a good reason for this. If interested I will post a piccie. |

Offline | That means your car now has 3 wheels + tyres with a combined diameter of 24.26", and one with a combined diameter of 24.97" . It is infact illegal to have different size tyres on the same axle. So currently your car is not roadworthy, and not covered by insurance. You need to change it so it's the same as the others ASAP . |
