Just changed front pads, now wheel wobbles!

As the title says. I have just changed the front pads on my 2003 Cooper. I then went out for a quick ride to bed them in. Got the brakes pretty hot( Smoking in fact!). Now my wife has drove it to work and said the steering wheel wobbles around fifty mph. Not under breaking though. What could it be?

Surley has to be brake related, as it only has just started. Could I have warped the discs bedding them in maybe a bit to harshley?!!?

Thanks

Terry

I'd bet the wheel lugs have come loose. I always torque them at least twice after putting the wheel on. After you bedded the pads in and the wheels have time to cool, you should check the torque again. I wouldn't let her drive home without having the lugs checked.

Could that really be the case? I have never seen that happen before? And I have done quite a few sets of pads.

Also guys, if it is the wheel nuts that are a bit loose would the steering wheel not wobble all the time?

I bet the wheels were tight to come off?

If some rust or build up of grit has built up on the hub face then the wheel wont seat correctly.

Drop the wheels of and check the hub is clean
