Apex pads and discs are cheap and if on a tight budget........! They sometimes however dont fit and require a bit of filing of the pads and the holes in the disc dont line up perfectly!!
They are fit for purpose ,and not great quality ,but you knew that already ,by the price!
QF can do an adequate job ,some places do not reset the handbrake or know how to as they deal in all cars ,bear this in mind if rear pads are being done. They probably dont clean the calipers of old dust ,or the hubs of any surface corrosion and apply a copper grease to prevent the wheel siezing on (makes them hard to remove later)

The pads for life sound good ,but as always this is a marketing ploy ,most owners sell the car before this happens ,and they also wont fit the free pads if any brake component is not perfect
This means they replace your discs next time .or can always blame a sticky caliper ,again not covered.

I remember buying and fitting pads to the classic Mini they squealed like a train pulling into the station. I actually took them back and demanded Rover parts from the shop he said you can but they are expensive. Bearing in mind the cheapys were £8 a pair the official parts were a huge £11 a pair. Those were the days.
We use a local garage for out of warranty work on our fleet never feels the same when they have done brakes though. I recently had to have new brakes on a car while it was in for service and I let them do it based on this.
On the quick fit thing I would use our local ATS for these kind of jobs they a good set of lads but I would personally use my mates garage who used to service my classics.

Brakes all fitted to front including new sensor and the light is still on.

How do I reset it?

Thanks.
