Yokohama Parada Spec II Tyres (205/40/17) opposed to (205/45/17)

Does fitting 40 profile instead of 45 profile have any noticeable effect on the speedo reading as the overall O.D of the tyre is smaller?

I am looking at getting a set but seems daft to pay £100 a tyre for 205/45/17 when the same tyre but 205/40/17 is £55 a tyre

This is a very useful website... Tire size calculator

Why not go for a set of 215/45 R17?

I know that Big Show 300 has got Yokohama Parada Spec 2 tyres in the 205/40-17 size on his MCS, if that's any help to you .

At 100 speedo mph the actual mph is 94 mph on the GPS... I've had 45 profile F1's and much prefer the 40's on the Yoko's. I'm running 205/40/17 and I can't fault them at all tbh, especially at £55 a corner.

You'll love them.

Oh and if you're lowering the car to 'track' levels then stick with 205's as my 215/45/17's rubbed like mad at the back with the Cross.

I have been in Bigshows car at Bedford on these tyres and they stick beautifully. As a result I made the leap off the run flats.

If you're not lowering the car, the lower profile tyre can look a bit lost in the wheel arch on a 17" wheel.
