Sticking Rear Brake Caliper? Help!

2003 S. Changed rear pads at 29k miles to EBC redstuff. Now on 36k miles. MOT said 9% difference in rear brake force. Checked disc thicknesses. 8.75mm rear left. 9.3mm rear right. When I changed them last year wear was even. I was careful about installation, cleaned and lubed sliders and copperslipped rear of pads. Pistons seemed to move back OK and couldnt see any problems with piston seals or corrosion / crap build up.

I am guessing problem is sticking rear caliper as this seems to be a common problem. Or could it be seized handbrake cable? Car rolls back when you release brake so it cant be sticking that much.

If caliper is sticking what is the fix? Do you have to buy new caliper or can you strip it, clean piston, lube and reassemble with new seals???? Do you just clamp brake lines if you do this?

Will replace discs and pads at same time (GTT ones).

Cheers.

Offside Rear (Handbrake) binding

I think your problem may be the same as mine.....
My rear offside brake is binding. As I pull away, the offside rear of the car dips slightly and of course the disc gets noticeably hotter than the near side one.
The pivot on the caliper will have corroded and the return spring isn't strong enough to release the brake.

Offside Rear (Handbrake) binding

Meant to say that if it is the handbrake binding, you won't have to touch the pistons. I'm not sure how easy it is to dissemble the handbrake pivot but I've been told to replace the caliper.

just found this firm, (rebuilt exchange calipers)
Mini One / Cooper 2002+ - Rear Brakes

How do you find the Redstuff pads? I've been using Greenstuff on my '03 Works Sand have wondered what the difference may be.
