Wheels on R53 JCW

I've been offered a set of BBS 17 wheels 4 x 100 pcd with an offset of 35mm. I've got a 2003 MCS JCW with standard brakes and suspension height. I'm looking to upgrade to R53 JCW calipers or R56 calipers in the next few weeks. The wheels are wearing 215 45 17 tyres.

Will I have any problems with rubbing if I stay at standard ride height?
Will I have adequate caliper clearance without having to use spacers?
Is it ok to go as far as 35mm offset as I was planning on sticking to 38mm max?
Will they look stupid that far out?!?!?!?

Thanks for your help fellas and I have searched already but can't find exactly what I'm after re: calipers and this offset

You need to find out if the wheels are compatible with the larger JCW brakes. You won't be able to use spacers because that will push the wheels out even further. With ET35 wheels and 215/45-17 tires you may experience some rubbing in the rear under full load.

Thanks for confirming that Miniac.

I have been trying to find a supplier of replica JCW 5 spoke wheels in 17" but sites that do list them don't have them in stock!!!

The R56 (jcwR53) calipers fit behind s-spokes and i'm pretty sure 16" X lites so you should'nt have a problem at all

Some JCW wheels are ET 45 and i think they look good

btw your tyres are too big :- standard size is 205 45 17 so your speedo will be misreading

As long as overall diameter is within ±3% of stock you're OK.

The MINI speedo isn't all that accurate to begin with
