Questions about refurbished wheels

I've found a nice refurbed set of BBS R90 split rim alloys for sale The dealer is after £500 for the set minus tyres, is this a good price? Am I right in thinking these alloys were a very early option with Minis? I saw the Italian job last night and they featured on there!

My question is, if the alloys have been refurbed can they be refurbed again and again? They have the diamond polished rim, im guessing they have to remove some metal to refurb, only so thin they can go!!

cheers in advance for any help!!

Thanks Rivet, I'll ask the chap if they have been done before. He is planning on getting the outsides laquered, is this a good idea or do they last better polished? Did you mean you R90s?

Cheers

Tom

It might be a better idea to get them split and have the outer portion painted/lacquered to match. That way you don't have the lacquer problems anymore!!!

That is a plan yes, he's not actually had them refinished yet!! Im stuck between these rims for £500 minus tyres or the BMW webspokes shown in my other thread with tyres for the same amount (albeit 205/40/17s which may look a bit funny!!)
