The goodyears should be OK at most tyre fitting places... they're like normal tyres but just with stronger sidewalls.

I've currently got the goodyear runflats on my 16" and am quite impressed with them. However, they're getting a bit bald now, so I'm swapping them for some wider, lighter tyres.

They've made 15,000 miles... they aren't illegal quite yet, but it's better to be safe than sorry. The outer edges are slick though

Try Elite in Rainham - they are very good and also Pro tyres in enfield

Both are good knowledgeable and Resonable. If you go non-run flat I really like Toyo Proxes T1-S tyres - had em on a Scooby. I don't have the number for the tyre dealer we got them from but they were 15% cheaper than either of these!!
We have Goodyear Eagle NCT5 run Flats - but you can get also get Goodyear Eagle F1 as runflats also - these are highly rated by all I know who have used them and many Scoobies also have these on. They also won a recent tyre test in EVO magazine (in non-runflat form).

We will probably go non-runflat when the NCTs wear out.

Ouch!

My Cooper came with Pirelli Euphoria's on its lovely 17" S Spokes, but I checked the prices online and found the 205/45/17 RunFlat at £160 each!

One way to make you keep the traction control turned on...

Could you find out the price for the Goodyear & Dunlop equivalent?

And how good are the pirelli's?
I have the Dunlops, and they stick like glue now they've been scrubbed in - their wet cornering grip is better than most other cars in the dry!

sorry!

Sorry AntH, didn't subscribe to this thread so only just found your question

I can't find the site where I got the Pirelli prices, but I doubt if there would be much in it on this spec & type of tyre??

I'm finding the P's are fine, I'm tending to take things easy at the mo, what with running in and all the rain we're having. I used to have a rear wheel drive kit car, so I've learnt to respect the wet, man!

Michelins

If anyone is a big Michelin fan, they also have a run-flat too, but I don't know the specifics. That is what I will probably replace mine with, after the Goodyear's quickly wear out. I have never had good luck with Goodyears.
