| Nice TTs......... | Tyre Brand Recommendations for 17" S Spokes? I'm wondering what brand of tyre to fit to a set of S spokes I currently have on order......this means that obviously I don't have to stick with run-flats...... My local tyre centre is trying to presuade me to go with a set of Federal tyres, which I have never heard of as being the most price competitive, but personally, I'd prefer to go with a biggger brand, e.g, Pierlli, Goodyear, Yokohama etc...... I'd just like to know what experience others have had, the car only does around 8000 miles per year, so I want a sticky tyre, not a hard wearing one...... Any recommendations ? Thanks in advance...... ![]() Global Moderator |

Offline | AidenL, where are you getting your wheels from? if you don't mind me asking - your dealer? if so, how much are you paying? if you go with a standard tyre, what will you do when you get a flat? Do you have a spare? Many thanks |

Offline | I dont know that everything listed will be available to you, but you could start by checking here: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Select...&autoYear=2002 You can read owner reviews of the individual tires, as well as reading subjective numerical evaluations of their abilities. Hope that helps a bit. ![]() '03 Cooper S Chili Red/White, Sport Pack, Rally Lights, HK sound (Estimated build date 12/6/02) '02 WRX Wagon (24,000 miles in 12 months) '90 VW Corrado (180,000 miles in 12 years) |

Offline | thanks for the reply, so in the end how much do you think it will cost you to get the 17's onto your car? As like you i am after a set of S spokes. Santacruz has a set of rims but it's been a nightmare in trying to get tyres, as i would like to get a set of runflats (I have no spare wheel). Until i can find cheap runflats i do not want to buy the rims from santacruz. It is looking like it is gonna cost me in the region of £950 to get the 17's I am gonna have to think long and hard. would rather get a aero kit for that sort of money and stick 16's on it. ![]() |

Offline | I've been quoted £105 for a Pirelli Eufori@ at a place my bro got his alloys from in bolton. Not sure it includes fitting though But my bro only paid £20 for fitting 4 tyres to new alloys and balancing etc. And that was from a kind of partner who they always ent there customers to. |
