Please Someone Help

Hi i had a very bad experience when purchasing my mini cooper 02. the dealer sold with warranty but he wont fix the problems with the car which are a s follows:

1) REALLY strange constant whining noise, not comiing from engine but kind of near the steering wheel/dashboard. if i steer its worse, but even if i just turn the car on - the noise is present to a lesser degree.

2) The wheels fitted are brande new 18" JCW alloys - is this ok for a normal cooper? the steering seems a little odd and i dont think the suspenion is upgraded or anything. also the warning lght comes on for tyre pressure (110mph) the dealer said this is because the cars standard tyres were not run flats - it just needs resetting, is this right??

The body kit (black wheel arches side skirts,) are bigger than other coopers i have seen and they dont align properly.. there seems to be slight gaps... maybe just badly fitted??

I would ask my delaer but he wont talk to me, even though i have a recepit with "warranty parts and labour 6months"..

The whining may just be your power steering... Which in most cases is normal... Would be good if you could post some pics of the body kit parts you are referring to... I think you'll need to have posted at least five times before you can post pics though...

Pretty sure the whining is just the signature mini steering noise.

When I bought my Cooper with 17s and runflats the pressure light came on first time I hit the motorway, so i just checked the pressures (which were fine) and reset the gauge. I think if it's been standing on a forecourt for a while, the first time you hit fast speeds, the pressures will be a bit scwiffy (technical term there).

110mph? tut tut

When I bought my Mini I too had the same concerns over a whining noise coming from the steering. The mini garage told me that this was normal in a lot of minis and that there is no problem. I have since heard it in a lot of other minis too, which has kind of made me feel slightly more at ease. But as someone has already posted, it is the signature noise of a mini. I wouldn't worry too much about it and I think I would miss it now if it were to go! ;o)

Warning light comes on for tyre pressure.

The warning light for runflats comes on at about 6psi because the tyre walls are self supporting and the sensor does not see any flex until almost flat. None runflat tyre walls are softer and the sensor reacts at about 26 psi so you have plenty of warning if none runflat tyre is loosing pressure.

I know this as I swapped 17 inch runflats for none runflats.
