To be honest any are probably better than the Euphoria. Things have moved on quite a bit since then. My new clubman came with Dunlop SP01 tyres. After running my Cooper with none runflats for 3 years I was pleasantly surprised by the SP01s. We are also running a MCS 192 on the Mitchelin runflats. These have been pretty impressive too. But will be trying the Bridgestones next.

04 JCW MCS. 17" S Spokes. Currently on Pirelli. I had to change 2 tyres which now have about 80% tread remaining, fitted to the back wheels. At time of replacement I could not get the SP01's in South Africa. The fronts will need replacing soon and I would like to put SP01's on them. Any problem in different makes front and rear? The Bridgestones are not yet ready available in South Africa (have seen them on the new JCW and would only be available at ridiculous price from the stealer) so I can only sensibly choose between Pirelli or Dunlop. Your views please.

Thanks for that MiniAC. Always the problem - if you rotate tyres to wear out all at the same time it is very costly to replace all 4 at once. If you replace only 2 at a time you are either stuck with replacing with the same tyre or sacrificing tyres that still have a lot of milage left. Luckily we have predominantly dry weather here so I will have to stick with Pirelli and get the full set to wear out. This will probably mean I will get the generation after SP01's.....

@Bluemax, Also in SA, I switched from Pirelli to Dunlop 9000's - handlings been much better compared to the pirelli's, and I've gotten just over 40 000km's of this set of tyres. Need to switch now cos I'm down to the legal limit (or less!). I'd suggest the Dunlop 9000's over the Pirelli's anyday. Not sure about you guys in PTA, but in Durbs the roads are in a dismal state - potholes all over. Buckled rim's and got "blisters" in tyres all too often - hence am tempted to look into Tiger Wheel's tyre insurance, xsure, product. Last I spk with them, they said that they will cover runflats as well - thats decent value since I buy a runflat from them and it gives up, or more than likely I hit a pothole or get a puncture, they re-imburse me with a credit note/voucher i.t.o tread used, to buy from a tiger dealer again. Beats having a puncture/pothole damage and having to fork out R2k / $200 for a new tyre. Just my 2c. I'm thinking of ditching the runflats though - haven't made up my mind yet whether tyre weld will suffice, or not.
