Brake Life on 07 R56 Cooper S Works?

Hi all,

My girlfriend has an 07 R56 Mini Cooper S Works. She's just taken it down to a BMW Mini Dealer for it's first TLC service. It's only done 12,800 miles. The dealer has said that all the brake pads and discs needed replacing - both front and rear. My question is: is this normal!? Surely the brake pads and discs should last longer than 13k. It's £670 to replace them so not an insignificant amount of money.

I was just wondering what other Cooper S Works drivers experience was of how long their pads and discs have lasted?

The car is unmodded (apart from the factory Cooper Works kit)

Any opinions/help anyone could offer would be greatly received

Thanks

James

Mmmm - pads maybe, but what's wrong with the discs? Standard BMW advice on MINIs is change the discs every 2nd pad change.

I would get a second opinion... I had that from a dealer I don't go to anymore... Only pads needed changing...
