Swapped out the R95's for Super T's

Had 18" R95 JCW alloys on my R53 and while they looked pretty awesome, they no doubt were pretty heavy and not much good around london roads with their uneven bumps and camber etc.

Managed to get rid of them and picked up a set of 17" OZ Super Turisimo GT's with Toyo T1S tyres (not the best but okay for now). Fitted them last night and took a drive down to bournemouth... what can I say!

The ride now is absolutely awesome, much more chuckable into bends, mpg at 60-65mph is 49.5!! I got 430 miles from a full tank before filling up and it was still showing 20 miles on the range! The car feels like its gliding along the surface now.

The car is a lot more responsive in 6th gear and whilst it wasnt slow before, now it feels like a rocket thru the gears. I think R95's weigh 10.7kg each, the Super T's 9.2kg, so a total saving of 6kg. Not sure how much lighter 17" tyres (205/40) are compared to Michelin PS2 (205/40) rubber but it must be at least one KG.

I reckon 10kg of rotational mass has been shaved and it certainly feels like it. The super t's were £180 off ebay, bit kerbed up but going in to lepsons next week for a full refurb in Porsche gt3 rs orange. Will get pics up once done.

Highly recommend 17's to anyone running 18s on the road and not happy with the ride quality.

well these are 4x100, et40 56.1 centre bore.

they were off a rover 25! Best thing to do is to check Alloy Wheel Fitting Guide - FREE guide to correct alloy wheel fitting

they will tell you what any cars fitment is so there is no issue whether it will fit. also cross reference with another guide to check accuracy.
