Space Saver tire

I was in to pick up my MCS from the dealer on wednesday (CD31 + Seat problem) and asked them about buying a jack so that I can do my own Winter/summer tire changes and the service guy says they are putting together a kit which will have a space saver tire (I think he said 70 profile on 15" rim)plus jack etc which could be mounted on the MINI. I tried to get him to explain how/where it would go - especially with the MCS battery location - but he didn't have details and the service manager had gone for the day. He did say it was a 30 minute installation process which makes you wonder how accessable it might be - especially on a snowy night.

i wondered if anyone else had heard of this? seems a lot of people are uncomfortable with run-flats only and have been asking for solutions. this is a good BMW dealer who I have dealt with for a few years and they tend to know what they are doing.

ermmm.... not too sure about MCS and the old fashioned amazing idea known as a spare wheel, all be it a space saver, the battery is in the way and also the exhaust boxes either side may act as a prob, if u can tho, i will be getting a kit as i dont like the price of replacing run flat tires. ha.
