| 07 Cooper S Brakes - what are the options? So... my OBC says about 2000 miles on the front brakes before they'll need replacement. Mini want circa £300 for the job, but I have a couple of handy mates (one works at a tyre centre, the other is a mechanic) so will more than likely look to them to fit whatever I get. However, what are people's recommendations on good replacements and also where to get them from? Thanks in advance |

| Well, I've had a 2007 MCS and a 2009 JCW and now a 2010 MCS. Trading down from the works Brembo's is (understandably) a bit of a shock. For example I'm leaving a motorway at speed on a slip road (as usual) and press the brakes for what feels like about 12" of travel and yes we stop but its not what you would call controlled or secure. In short it was scary. Its in part pedal travel, feedback and speed of response. |
