Another Tire Question please - MINI2

Presently I have 175/65 r15 on my 07 mini (non S) brand name contenental. They are worn out. Also my speed is showing 5 miles faster than what I am actually doing, so I was thinking of getting a taller tire to sync up the system. The local tire dealer said he would not advise putting a taller tire on because the newer cars transmission changes off the tire rotation and not vacuum, and I would burn up my trans. The tire I was looking at would have been about one quarter to one half inch taller.

What do you guys think?

Not heard that one before

You should be able to run 190/60-15 or 185/65-15 tires.
