changing alloy wheel colour - photoshop or photos!

Hi guys & girls,

I yet have another problem with my 16 day old 08 plate Mini Cooper.

It's just had bonnet strips put on it and the Window problem sorted out but now after getting the car home and giving it a quick clean the alloy wheel paint is starting to flake off of all 4 wheels.

It is ether from a poor refurb from the last owner or the dealer, i have spoken to the dealer about it and they have said they will put it right its just a case of waiting for a courtesy car.

What i was thinking is having the wheels sprayed a different colour a slightly darker gray would look nice on the silver i think.....just need some help from you guys and possible a Photo shop if some one isn't too busy!

Many thanks

soopercooper - Cheers for the link, i wont be painting the wheels myself, the dealer is going to be doing it for me at some stage this week.

Could some one help me out with a photo shop/photo of a silver gen 2 mini with dark gray wheels???

Thanks in advance!

i say go for it!! i used to own a silver lupo gti. I redid the standard wheels in an anthracite grey and it totally transformed the car. Would highly recommend it. pic of my lupo below to show the contrast.

Guys,

I had my wheels refurbished at BMW Enfield and to be honist the finish on the wheels is a poor standard.

The colour looks flat, there is patches of gloss missing therefore giving it a matt effect.

Also the guy in the work shop told me that they don't even remove the tyre? I would of thought to get the best finish that would of been done?

Am i right in thinking that the alloy wheel should look as new once refurbished?

It looks like Minimal effort has been put into my car and i am getting rather ****ed off with it going back and forth to BMW.

any of your comments/help would be much appreciated.

If you're not satisfied with the refurb, tell them!
You need to be persistent. They will undoubtably try to fob you off at first. Explain that you are not satisfied with the standard of their work - keep hassling them until they set things straight.

well had a result with my BMW dealer!

after a bit of research i found out that the dealer uses a company called Diamond Styling to refurb there high end M sport BMW's which happen to have a very good reputation on refurbishing alloy wheels.

I went down there today (on my birthday!) had a nice chat with the manager of the dealership and told them what i had found out and asked why Diamond Styling weren't employed to carry out the works to start with. in the long and short of it money plays a big game!

Anyway they have agreed to send my wheels to Diamond Styling in the next 2 weeks, give me a courtesy car for four-five days (because the refurb is done over 2-4 days as it isn't rushed!) and also sort out the scratch they kindly give me when i dropped the car off last time to have the wheels sorted!

Think i am going to for a dark gray like leddys Lupo, has any one got a photo of a Silver Mini with gray wheels? or could some one photoshop the photo on my car?

Thanks in advance!
