wow, i think he just painted his rim black rather than buy tyres! I am used to poor comfort to be honest as i had 1999 rover mini cooper with just about every trick i could afford including Yokohama semi track tyres so im used to back breaking discomfort (honestly it was awful BUT amazing)
ok, so these wheels you suggest
The offset is 42 though on these wheels, that be OK? I'm gonna buy this week so please let me know. thanks, simon

A 42mm offset will be fine.

YAY! got them at last, omg i am amazed at the difference they make, really tightened up the sensitivity of the steering and the whole car is much less bouncy (its like my old 1999 rover cooper now). I borrowed a works special whilst i was having some warranty work done last year, that was on 18s and it reminds me of that (although without the yummy motor etc). Anyway, thanks for all your help. Anyone a member of Plymouth mini group that meet on tuesdays? Simon

Thank you. Yer they went straight on, although Im not convinced the fitter balanced the wheels or anything else and the mot today showed that 1 tyre was showing a hint of wear already. bloody corners.
I just fitted some external chrome today and got some plain black Apanel transfers to go on next week. Might make a trip to mr stereo shop on saturday. SERIOUSLY addictive. I love red minis too, perfect colour.
You off to any shows this year?
simon
