DIY Dooper Eagle F1 non run flat tyre pressures??

Hi there, i'm hoping someone can help me with my 'problem'. Tried doing a search here but all the results that came up seem to relate to the MCS.

Just changed all my tyres to Eagle F1 215/45/17 (on R108 rims) on my 57 Dooper. My last set of front tyres (also non fun flat Nankang Ns2) were worn unevenly on the outer sides suggesting that it was under-inflated?? Thinking about it and looking back, the front wheels did look under-inflated.

Anyway, determined to get it right this time, so does anyone have any experience with a similar set up? I just pumped the front to 45 psi and the rear to 38 psi.

this sounds frighteningly high right? But both front and rears look about right now... with the front's looking slightly 'saggier' due to the added weight its supporting (front's look really saggy when left at 35ish psi).

I've not run the car with these pressures yet as I'm not sure if it's safe to do so.

Should i drop the front and rear to something lower? (visually speaking.. the front would look even more under-inflated).

Any help or guidance would be most appreciated!! Thanks!!

(By the way, i have two tyre gauges.. one that's supposed to be top notch and very accurate though i can't remember the brand name).

If both outside edges of your tyres were worn that is due to underinflation. If only one side of each tyre was worn it is an error in your suspension geometry. Don't panic though 95% of geometry problems are cured by just a simple tracking adjustment. If you drive normally try 2.3 bar front and rear to start with. If you drive hard try 2.6 bar front and 2.3 bar rear. After that watch for tyre wear, it'll soon tell you if you are under/over inflated. Take tread depths now, lots of new tyres come with a different tread depths in the centre compared to the outside. The pressure recommendations come from when I ran 215/54 Falken FK451's bye the way.

Thanks for helping me out SteveM3

Just reduced my front from 45psi to 38.5 psi Close to your recommendation SteveM3

Left the backs at 37psi. Going to take several readings as per your recommendation after a few thousands miles and adjust accordingly.

I changed to non runflats and have cannot decide between 34psi or 35psi. What I do think though is that fuel consumption has increased since changing from the old run flats but the noise has been reduced significantly. I'd love to get a better balance I just think that 37psi is to much.....
