Australia Is 215-45-17 Ok for mcs

Hi guys, this is my first day and first post here. nice to meet all of you.

Just purchased a 05 mcs which currently got a set of 205-45-17 runflat. i assume this came as standard. however, the problem is this size is very hard to find from shops and got pay heaps money.

So just wondering can i put 215-45-17 on it? by the way my wheel is 17 inchs crown.

Just one more question: as i decided i will ditch my run flat, how do we normally deal with flat tyre in the future? 1 Carry a spare tyre 2 get a repair kit (including air pump and a tube of that thing, sorry forgot the name) 3 wait for jesus.

Many Thanks

You can run 215/45-17 or 215/40-17 tires on OEM wheels but these will be conventional tires and you'll have to carry a mobility kit (compressor and tire sealant) to deal with flats.

Yes runflats are a pain just buy some tyreweld and a small compressor (£5uk) but they can get very very hot quickly, better to buy bigger (£25uk)

Where in Aus are you!? Most runflats and the 205/45/17's are easy to find, youjust need to order, and 205/45/17's in non runflats would be cheaper anyhow.....

hi there, nice to meet you here, i am in adelaide. but i bought my car in vic.

the price of 205/45/17 i found in SA, in more expensive than 215-45-17 since they are more popular. so i am kind of wanting to get wider tyre with cheaper price.

the market in here is less competitive so i dont have much options which is bit unlike VIC.

Cheers

yes.. its worked on my lowered S for the last 2 years

This is the most unprofessional bit of site management I have seen since I was banned from a certain other site...at least they had the excuse that they were enthusiasts who had strong views and not professionals paid to keep thier cool!
