I am thinking of using a set of drag radials for the track, what size 15" tire should i go with.

obehave, on a set of 18"s i am doing the 1/4 in 15.1 at 91 mph.and that is just hitting 4th gear. so im not sure what you are doing to get into 5th or even 6th gear. ive gotten the car up to 120 in 5th gear but it got a little scary.

I've cranked my S up to 115 or so in 5th. 5th really doesn't start pulling until 80 mph or so. 6th gear under a 100 mph is like throwing an anchor out and dragging it. I haven't run a 1/4 on a track, but if you are into 5th gear something is wrong.

Hi suprchrgdmini.....

The idea of using a 15" wheel is correct for dragracing
not because of the rolling radius although it does gear
the car down a bit...No the reason is that the taller tire
will be filled with a small amount of air so what happens is the tire will actualy wrinkle a little and give you superior traction. I would go to Thompson race tires,Nitto tires or BFG tires check out the info and make a informed
decission. Good luck

Tire Size Comparator

This is a handy tire size comparator:

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Your 215/35-18 are already a little shorter than the stockers. 225/50-15 would keep your current gearing the same.
