im running 16"s atm got goodyear excellence but the fronts have got really bad tread so they need replacing.. i dont know weather to just replace the front two but that will cost me about 180 sticking to the same tyres, or a new set of 4 non run flats which will still be about 250 for a set or i can get a set of part worns for 80.. bearing in mind im a student with no income and im asking my dad to pay for the tyres what would be the best ones to get? im tempted for part worns due to being so cheap but at 20 a tyre im not feeling too confident, any thoughts please?
I'd get the new set of 4 non runflats..its false economy getting part worns, because your gonna have to get new tyres again, and sooner, so therefor spending more money in the end up than if you just spend that little extra just now!
Get new. Part worns are a bit of a fail. You never know the history of the tyre - how the previous owner kept it, how old the tyre is etc. Last thing you want is dodgy tyres.

love how you all say get new tyres, part worns have gotta be better than bald tyres surely, and i wont get points for them as i dont really have the cash for a full set of brand new or even 2 new rf flats right now
I totally know what you mean, but thats our opinions, which you asked for. Get the part worns just now, but you'll be shelling out money again pretty soon mate
I have bought a part worn before, was waiting on new tyres and I had to get a flat tyre before they came!..so got that do do me a few days..but my mates a tyre fitter so knew it would be fine!
Also..say you'l pay for as much as you can too..he might feel sorry for you and just pay for the lot!..go onnnnn lay the guilt trip..I do all the time..when I was at college I had "Im a poor student" and Im an only child..you owe me this" now i've only got "im an only child..."
i wanted to see if anyone had experience as to whether it really makes a big difference, from your responses it does.. might have to offer to pay out my student loan then hopefully hell just get them anyway, but i need a new bonnet or to get it repaired (huge rock got flung up at my bonnet), new breakes, engine oil and tyres only had the car 4 months
hmmm..I see you predicament, and totally understand..stuck between a rock and a hard place kinda thing!
If you can get somewhere that can provide good part worns, maybe someone in your family knows anyone thats not gonna rip the ****, then I would say go for it!
