What kind of brakes do you have?

I need to replace my pads and discs this spring and I can't seem to find very much about this here.. I'm just wondering, what kind of brakes do you guys have?

I'm not looking to upgrade calipers or anything, just wondering which pads and discs to choose.. I'm not very impressed by the OEM brakes..
I'm also going to change brakefluid..

I don't really know too much about R53 brakes - apart from the standard ones are shocking!

I have the JCW Brembo brakes.

I have heard good stuff of mintex though

Get yourself some Carbotech's, these will satisfy your braking needs, however they are not cheap! And when matched to Nitrac discs will give awesome stopping power.

Which kind do you recommend? AX6, XP8, XP10....etc?
Carbotech doesn't say they have any pads which are recommended both for trackday-driving and for every-day use... I'm looking for just that..

I have a 05 mcs. I use my car for road and track. I used mintex m1144 pads they were good but did suffer from a little brake fade when on track after a lot of hard braking. Ive heard a lot of god things about Ferrodo DS2500 pads and these are what im going to be replacing the mintex with.

I currently run XP10 front and XP8 rear on my 2009 Clubman Cooper S, this see's track time as well as street, and these are more than enough for street/odd track day, see below too.

PAD COMPOUNDS
RECOMMEND USAGE AND APPLICATION

Bobcat™
Road, good replacement for OE pads, low dust and noise.

AX6™
Road and fast road, good upgrade over OE for the spirited road driver

XP8™
Fast road/track day/sprint, ideal for regular fast road and track day users

XP10™
Extreme fast road and track, for the hardcore road and track user

XP12™
Ultimate track, perfect for the serious racer demanding the very best

After the XP12 there is a XP16, however these are a really hard aggressive compound, and not recommended for street use.

Thanks guys!

Purplerob: what kind of discs do you use? I have good experience with Ferodo DS3000 on my racecar and have considered DS2500 for my MINI..
