Steering

I am not sure is this is the right place for my question. Sorry if its wrong!

Is there any way to tighten the steering on my Mini Cooper D (2nd-gen, 6-months old)?

(What I mean by tightening is so that the wheel does not need to be turned so far in order to go around a given corner?)

It would give my car a more pleasing, sportier feel. I wonder if this might be achieved by a software setting. I do not have the Sports-Button option. Any advice would be gratefully received

Do you mean, you mean less turns of the wheel to make it turn. (means changing the rack)

Or to you mean you want it sharper, so that a slight movement of the wheel and the car will follow? (can be improved with suspension mods)

Thanks for your reply, JoeV.

I think it is the first one that I mean (less turns of the wheel to make it turn).

What I mean is to achieve the effect of the Sport Button on steering but permanently and without the Sport Button itself. Given that the Sports Button achieves this in software (or so I assume as a layman) can this be replicated?

(On my last mini (a 2nd-gen Cooper not S), the Sports button seemed to do only two things: make the accelerator pedal more responsive and achieve the effect I desire on the steering).
