DIY MCS Replacing Tyres Question

I have a 54 plate MINI Cooper S with a complete set of 215/45/17 91Y Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3. When the tyres were originally purchased i ordered a lower speed and weight rating (inline with the factory standard) but the 91Y were sent. In the end i accepted the 91Y because i needed the tyres but it turns out that the 91Y's are reinforced tyres for significantly heavier cars. My understanding, im happy to be corrected, is that these tyres don't provide the full benefit in terms of comfort of switching to non run flats because they have reinforced sidewalls

One pair of these tyres now need replacing, therefore my questions is Am i forced to buy a pair that match the 91Y that will continue to be on the front of my car or can i purchase a pair more inline with the factory standard/recommended?

I have already read the FAQs on the topic, i was looking for some first hand experience of people who have been in the same situation.

You'll find other threads on this subject where people say they've had no problems "mixing tires". That doesn't mean it's a wise thing to do
