17" or 18" Replicas

Hi all, about to get my mini clubman this week so im new to all of this

Im wanting to change the wheels to the R112 Challenge style, pref in black but im not sure which size to go for. They would be replicas as i cant justify the cost of genuine. Do replicas have a bad reputation? I dont see how they are any different to other alloy wheels in the £400 region made by other brands, nothing wrong with them so why would these be any different just because they use someone elses design? I understand the weight may be different due to lower quality materials compared to the real ones but still, why would they be any lesser than other alloys in this price range.

So back to 17 vs 18, iv read that 18" need a lock limiter. Is this the case for all minis? and with the offset of the wheels being ET42 (whatever that means) does that make a difference to how they fit?

Thank you very much for your help

ET42 is the offset of the wheels. You would NOT need a steering lock limiter for this offset.

I'm looking for the same type of wheels, but in 17" cant seem to find them. And I also agree with you on paying so much at the dealer.
