United-States Replacing runflats with Non-runflats

What do you suggest is the best NON-runflat tire for a 2007 Mini base Cooper R56?

The tyres to be replaced are: 195/55 R 16 87V Continental

I would like in order of priority: 1. quiet 2. smooth ride 3. wear

Remarks: I find the runflats are noisy, kidney jolting hard ride and expensive!

This car has a spare underneath so no reason for runflats as far as I'm concerned....also car will be mainly driven in city traffic with bad roads (pot holes etc) in NYC...ugh!

The more I read, the more confused I get about which tyres to buy......

Thanks in advance for your help and input.

Check out Tirerack.com to check out the pros and cons of tires. Did the car come with runflats? It has a spare so it's not a Cooper S. Who put the runflats on it? Can't be the original tires on an 07...

I don't know..I'm the third owner....first owner couldn't make payments and turned in car with 8000 miles on it or something like that....second owner put 60,000 miles on it most being highway miles.....now it's my turn....It was probably the second driver that put on the runflats (a woman who wouldn't want to get stuck on a highway late at night changing a tire)...understandable, but not what I want....

It doesn't seem that this is going to be a simple solution, eh?
