2010 Mini Clubman JCW Brake System - What parts?

Hello all,

I'm new to this site so please be kind.

I have a 2010 JCW Mini Clubman. According to the service light, I require new brake pads. I would like to do this at home rather than pay a main dealer to perform a relatively simple job.

In light of this, please can someone advise on the brake system for the JCW? I would like to know part numbers for front and rear discs and pads and the best place to buy them from.

Any help would be fantastic.

Hi,

Thanks for the response. Having looked at the website I am still a little confused.

I would like to know what are the original brake discs and pads (both front and rear) and where is best to buy them from? My car is a 59' plate Mini Clubman JCW. I have just been quoted £96 by Mini for new rear brake pads! Hence the need to aquire them elsewhere.

If the cars a standard factory JCW go onto minigenuineparts site and look at the JCW brake parts to find the pads youre looking for, they arent cheap though even then.

Using part numbers on the diagrams you can price parts at a couple of sources.

For example for rear brake pads, you can use the 11 digit part number to price them here or the last 7 digits of part number to price them at another site.

You'll find that OEM parts aren't cheap

You are right, pads are a simple to do. The rears are a bit more tricky because you need a calliper piston winding in tool. However, You say your car is a 2010 model and i would be careful regarding your remaining warranty period. If, God forbid, something should happen with regard to the braking of your car, MINI UK may not cover it. If manufactures can get out of something, they will.
You just know that a possible future warranty claim will be met with " the car was not repaired in accordance with BMW MINI guidelines and therefore you have invalidated your warranty claim".
