Changing a wheel sensor

I currently have lights on my dash which according to BMW is because of the wheel sensor, we have bought 2 new front sensors and was hoping some of you mini whizz's could help me with how you change them? Much appreciated. Kal x

Faulty wheel sensor, the benefit in replacing it/ them is to fix the problem, make the dashboard light go out and make sure the car works properly and safely.

Do wheel sensors need recoding or can they simply be swapped out and recognised by the various computers in the car? Once changed I guess driving a couple of hundred metres or so would reset the system?

Hmmm after visiting our local mini dealer it turns out actually it wasn't a sensor but in fact a broken wire to the abs unit, cars booked in on weds to hopefully be sorted!
