Alpina 18" Rims at UK Dealer

I was at Barons in Farnborough today, and spotted a tower of tyres - Alpina 18" rims.

Unfortuntaley I didn't spot the make/model of tyres or the rims width for you. Asking price is £2406.50 fitted.

Agreed! Although they don't look too bad on the S, you can still get better rims for the MINI

the MINI has gone...

Why Alpina only both to make alloys for the Mini. I think this only goes to show that an Alpina Mini was definitely in the bag.

Exclamation Beautiful wheels. I want them..

for my wall.

That first pic floored me- The second one..

well

They outdo the MINI for detail. As said, too much, busy. What's the story of alpina and MINI?

Here's a couple more from my dealer's "John Cooper Works" MINI Cooper S that they lent me while I was awaiting my replacement MINI Cooper S. It ran on 215x40 18" Michellin Pilots, and he told me that whoever had borrowed it before me, had kerbed EVERY one of them He wasn't very happy.

BTW, even though I too don't like the look of them, they did drive very well. Not that I pushed it though. Just toooooooooooooooo risky!

Wow this topic has been lost in time abit but i thought ide brimng it back up as i love the wheels. Looks like since this post ended they never really sold many sets atal!! Glad i bagged myself some really different style OEM wheels with some history behind them as they were a very limited run and not many people out there realise what they are. Even Sytner Sunningdale ALPINA parts did not even know these existed when i called them!! Worring
Any one know if there is much more behind the Alpina/MINI thing besides the wheels?

Sorry to bring an old post up but very interesting i thought!
