Help needed with brakes / servicing

Firstly apologies if this is posted in the wrong place - just joined up today.

I have a '05 Mini One 1.6 Automatic.

Today it went in for its big service - the garage have called me to say they have found a few extra things that need doing (which I was already aware of), but I wanted to check what you guys think of the price quoted, as it seems a little steep to me.

Problems to be rectified after service:

Replace Rear Wiper Blade.
New front brake discs and pads, also sort out sticking calipers.
Re-attach sensor to back brakes as currently hanging off.
Tracking redone as uneven wear on front tyres.

I was quoted 475 + VAT for the above, ontop of the 160 service charge I will be paying anyway. They also said I need two new front tyres, quoting 207 + VAT for two! Also quoted 61 + VAT for new spark plugs, apparently needed as i'm at 60k?

Sounds like a lot of money to me, on average how much does it cost for front brake discs & pads to be replaced?

Any help is appreciated.

You're going to pay top dollar at any mini garage. Get the work done at a reputable independent garage.

Or do it yourself its not difficult.
150 for all four brake discs and pads and new seal kits on 2 of them.
Juratek discs are a good make, made in Doncaster.

a service manual is the first xtra i buy for any vehicle i get if you do any work yourself otherwise find a good independent, stealers are $$$ they have lots of overhead + want big profits. front brakes are usually not bad, rotors if needed add to cost, a sticking caliper could just be draggin on a dirty slider pin or possibly a piston sticking, you need an HONEST independent that only does whats necessary. always ask for the parts that are replaced.
