Wheel names?

As you can see here the factory wheels available for the MINI seem to have names! Did you know that?

7-Hole = "Imola", 5-Spoke = "Daytona", S-Spoke = "Le Mans" etc...

It is quite usual for BMW to name body colors after racetracks (Imola red, Phoenix yellow etc.), but never wheels...
That is more a Volkswagen tradition, they have wheels called "Indianapolis" or "Kyalami".

I think itīs much cooler to refer to wheels by their fantasy name, but that has the negative aspect that not everybody knows which wheel you are talking about.

What do you think about this thing?

Klaus

The wheel names you mentioned are listed in the FAQ on factory wheels. AFAIK, no "fancy" names were given to the R86 - R88 and R90 wheels.

Why not start at the home page of Katrin. She's got a lovely looking set of cars.

A BMW 330d, BMW Z3 and an MCS.

Oops, well I should have looked there. I used the search feature without results.
