Tyre Pressure Monitor - is it present, how to tell?
I am new here, not a Mini owner as yet, but I have viewed a potential Mini Cooper S, it's a 2011 model - looks great.
It has the Chili Pack and 17" wheels. The tyres are NOT run flats. In the boot there is a 'inflation kit' or whatever Mini calls it. It was ordered/specified without run flats, just normal tyres.
I wonder if someone with knowledge of this generation of Cooper S can help - if a new Mini Cooper S was ordered WITHOUT run flats, on 17" wheels, does this still mean all the tech. (pressure sensor etc.) is still in place should I want to put run flats on at a later stage.
How do you tell - is there dash board test?
Please don't tell me never to do so - I know all about the ride, handling issues (coming from a 1 series owner with lots of experience knowledge of them!)... but I'd like to know that should the technology improve (and I think it will) this Cooper S has the potential to have them fitted without any extra costs or hassle.
With many thanks - A 'hopefully' soon to be Cooper S owner!
