Question Wheel Thumping?

Hi, I haven't had my mini long and when I bought it, I didn't notice it had a nail in the back right tire. It goes flat pretty quickly; If it's filled up the tire pressure light will come on about 3-4 days later. I have run flats but it's getting pretty bad, would this cause the car to thump rhythmically with the speed of the car? It just started today and it's worrying me. It's more noticeable at slow speeds and you can really feel it thump, it almost sounds like the wheel is loose and it might fall off...... If it is the flat tire, am I safe to drive on it until I fill it up? I bought the car in pretty good condition, low miles, always kept in a garage, it was basically a weekend car. I've had it for about 4-5 months and this is the first thing that has gone "wrong" so I don't think it's anything serious.

Thanks in advance!

The sensible answer is take it to the tyre fitting place and let them look at it, if its going down its plainly obvious it isnt right.
If you think the wheel might be falling off dont ask questions take it straight to the garage, or get them to collect it if its that bad.
To just keep pumping up a tyre every other day is ridiculous, and run flats arent meant to be run flat each day, they are designed as a get you home only thing and then only a certain distance so you can get it fixed without the need to change a wheel at the side of the road.
Once they have been run flat they need to be renewed not pumped up and carry on.

The thump might be the tyre starting to break up as its had enough, better get it to the garage pronto now.

Hi ya

From what you say it sounds like they have left the repair plug to high it needs cutting down but
most importantly run flats should not be repaired. If you have been driving on a under inflated or punched run flat you will be destroying the carcus of the tire and could cause a blow out

I would say if your tires are bad dump the runflats get your self a set of good tires non run flat.
I carry a can of tire repair with me and am a member of a motoring recovery service so hopefully I have it covered.

Also depending on what mini you have, some models you can retrofit a spare wheel.

I have retrofitted a spare tire around my waist just Incase :-)
